What to Watch on Wednesday
Power sources, gen art & ...DeGods on Bitcoin?
We deserve Wednesday after the rude awakening of this past weekend.
The middle of the workweek is shaping up to be an exciting day in NFT land, and I am here for it.
What will the many NFTs in Sotheby’s ongoing auction go for? Will DeGods take Bitcoin yet? And what will that 1,000 ETH Golden Key actually do in The Summoning?
Here’s five things in digital art to watch on Wednesday. 🖼️

YUGA LABS: THE SUMMONING
There will be a new Yuga Labs collection hitting secondary, which is always a major event in the web3 world. The Bored Ape Yacht Club Dookey Dash game is over, the Sewer Pass scores are locked, and The Summoning is here.
In The Summoning, Sewer Passes can be burned for 1 of 8 Power Source types— some of which have Companions, which were earned in the special “Toad Mode” days of the game.
This is just the beginning, and your Power Source may undergo additional transformations in its journey. Hold your Power Source close, because they will have applications in future experiences!
Remember, you’ll need to burn your Sewer Pass to participate in the next stage and beyond (see below). We don’t know much about what’s next, except that it all likely ties into this mysterious sketch of Mecha Apes & Mecha Dogs.

What’s next
SOTHEBY’S: CONTEMPORARY DISCOVERIES
This incredible Sotheby’s collection winds down Wednesday at 9am Pacific. The sales bring together paintings, prints, photographs, digital art, and sculptures from the last 150 years. It’s targeted at both emerging art buyers and traditional collectors.
NFTs from accomplished digital artists are prevalent in Contemporary Discoveries. The auction includes works from Tyler Hobbs, Pindar Van Arman, Terrell Jones, Pop Wonder, 0xdgb, Harvey Rayner, and more.
It will be fun to see where the final prices end up for these pieces, as digital art continues to be increasingly showcased amongst traditional art.
PROOF x MIKA TAJIMA: ARCHIVE OF FEELINGS
PROOF and Pace Verso are presenting the first solo NFT project from Mika Tajima, and minting starts Wednesday. Archive of Feelings is a visual sentiment analysis made up of digital smoke. There are 1,152 NFTs, which also provide access to exclusive in-person Pace Gallery events.
“The piece represents a 15-minute time segment from January 1st, 2023: highlighting both the anticipatory possibilities of the new year, and the melancholy of time passing in a tumultuous era.”
PROOF Collective members and holders of Moonbirds and Grails have potential allowlist access. Be sure to register ASAP if you haven’t yet.

ART BLOCKS x CHARLOTTE DANN: CERAMICS
Art Blocks Curated is dropping Ceramics by Charlotte Dann at 10am Pacific. Dann says: ”Ceramics is a generative exploration of clay as a digital material. Each slab is carved with undulating organic patterns, ‘hand’-numbered, and stamped with my maker’s mark.” This is the artist’s first generative NFT project.
She came up with the idea for Ceramics in August 2021 while looking through the material archive boxes from her years studying jewelry and 3D design. You can explore the outputs in the generator, which is pretty fun.
Starting Dutch Auction price is 8 ETH, ending at 0.25 ETH. There won’t be any physical ceramics, but prints will be available.
DEGODS: BITCOIN ORDINALS (maybe?)
So I don’t think this one will actually go on Wednesday, but there is always a small chance.
Frank has been cagey about the date and time for when the burned DeGods get resurrected on Bitcoin Ordinals. They’ve already all been inscribed in one big block. With DeGods moving to ETH and y00ts moving to Polygon (both from Solana), Frank is bringing another chain into the mix.
There aren’t really details of how these will be allocated yet. Some think that they will be reserved for DeGods and y00ts holders; others think that they will be auctioned off or put in a public raffle. Whatever it is, all Bitcoin laser-red eyes are on Frank and his crew this week.
Block 776408 by @DeGodsNFT.
Inscriptions 77,236 - 77,770.

I (lightly) recommend shirking all your responsibilities and staying tuned to these Wednesday web3 highlights.
In the meantime, may our ETH and BTC stay high, and our stablecoins remain, well, stable. 🫡
